Why do I see small, wavy light or dark lines in my prints?

If you have a good media and a good profile, and all of your nozzles are firing cleanly, the problem is usually PF (paper feed) adjustment.

Optimizing your Value Jet Prints

1. Ensure you have a good nozzle check!  Nozzle check procedure is in the manual, and available on the Mutoh website procedure for the VJ1204 here:

2. Insure good uni and bi directional adjustment!  This procedure is in the manual and available on the Mutoh website here:
http://www2.mutoh.com/public/VJ-1204Operations%20Guide/eng/data/00000020.htm#toc44This procedure assumes that your machines has been properly calibrated in Maintenance Mode.

3.  Calibrate “Page Feed” The procedure is here:
http://www2.mutoh.com/public/VJ-1204Operations%20Guide/eng/data/00000024.htm#toc59 You will need a fairly accurate millimeter measurement device for optimal PF adjust, a suitable steel rule is available from: McMaster-Carr, http://www.mcmaster.com/, the part number is 6823A62.

4. Media, a high quality media is preferred for best results. Typical heater settings are 40 Preheat, 42 Platen and 50 Dry.
